Goiânia, GO, 14 (AFI) – A Série B do Campeonato Brasileiro 2022 já acabou, mas o Ministério Público de Goiás está investigando suposto caso de manipulação de resultados. O meia Romário, ex-Vila Nova e agora no Goiânia, o lateral Matheusinho, ex-Sampaio Corrêa e agora no Cuiabá, e Joseph, do Tombense, são alvos da operação batizada como “Penalidade Máxima”. O caso está com o promotor de Justiça Fernando Martins Cesconetto.
Três partidas são investigadas: Vila Nova x Sport, Sampaio Corrêa x Londrina e Criciúma x Tombense, todas pela 38ª e última rodada. O esquema consistiria na marcação de um pênalti ainda no primeiro tempo.
Romário, ex-Vila Nova e atualmente no Goiânia, não atuou na 38ª rodada, mas mesmo assim está entre os alvos. Na última temporada, o Vila Nova rescindiu com o jogador por “ato de indisciplina grave” e ainda fez a denúncia ao MP.
