Professores da rede municipal de ensino participam da qualificação proporcionada pelo Programa Diagnóstico Precoce do Câncer Infantil do Gpaci

O Programa Diagnóstico Precoce do Câncer Infantil – Etapa 2024, realizado pelo Hospital do Gpaci (Grupo de Pesquisa e Assistência ao Câncer Infantil), recebeu, na manhã desta segunda-feira (27), um grupo de profissionais da Secretaria da Educação (Sedu), entre os quais estavam professores das Salas de Recursos Multifuncionais (SRM), que atendem o público elegível da Educação Especial, além de gestores da Secretaria, que também puderam se beneficiar das informações transmitidas nesse encontro. O objetivo da qualificação foi orientar e preparar esses profissionais para a identificação precoce de casos de câncer em crianças e adolescentes, encaminhando-os com rapidez aos profissionais de saúde.

Além de abordar sobre a importância da rápida identificação ou suspeita da doença e encaminhamento adequado, também foi explicado como funciona, nesse hospital especializado, a equipe que oferece suporte escolar às crianças em internação. O trabalho dessa equipe se dá no sentido de contribuir para que os alunos atendidos no hospital se mantenham seguindo o conteúdo curricular de sua turma escolar, evitando a defasagem que poderia resultar de sua ausência em sala de aula.

Participaram do curso a psicóloga do Gpaci, Evelin Melissa Araújo, e a médica oncologista pediatra, Luiza de Souza Santos Milare, além do diretor-clínico do Gpaci, o oncologista e hematologista pediátrico André Viu Matheus. Ele explica que a ideia inicial do hospital era falar com médicos da rede, mas verificou também o quanto é importante poder incluir nesse programa o professor, uma vez que é um dos profissionais que passa boa parte do dia em contato com a criança.

“Muitas vezes, é o professor que consegue perceber, às vezes, antes da mãe, algumas mudanças importantes na criança. Até por sua rotina de trabalho. E sabemos que o câncer, quando é descoberto precocemente, muda completamente o prognóstico da doença e as chances de cura da criança. Esses sinais podem ser uma dor de cabeça recorrente, uma massa proeminente no corpo da criança, mudanças de comportamento, para tumores do sistema nervoso, que é o tipo de câncer mais frequente em crianças. São mudanças como um comportamento mais letárgico da criança, maior sonolência, uma fala diferente. Ou abaulamentos em regiões como o olho, o nariz, a barriga”, descreve o médico. Ele destaca, ainda, que especialmente as crianças menores, que recebem cuidados dos professores como o banho, fica mais fácil encontrar e notar essas mudanças corporais que requerem atenção. Daí a relevância de cursos de capacitação como o ofertado pelo Gpaci.

Além disso, após a qualificação, os professores das SRM (Salas de Recursos Multifuncionais) puderam conhecer um pouco mais do trabalho realizado pelas professoras do Gpaci na Classe Hospitalar.

“O espaço escolar é um ambiente potente, que conta com a qualificação de seus profissionais e um olhar de forma única e integral para cada estudante. Percebendo qualquer mudança comportamental, é feito o acolhimento de queixas permanentes, bem como a manutenção de conversa com as famílias e até encaminhamentos para investigação”, pontua a professora da Classe Hospitalar, Patrícia Públio.

Para a professora da Classe Hospitalar Edilaine Rehder o contato permanente com os estudantes é fundamental para a percepção da doença.

”Entendemos que é na escola que os estudantes permanecem por muito tempo e o professor que tem conhecimento e sabe da importância do diagnóstico precoce do câncer infantil é capaz de realizar orientações e salvar a vida da criança”, pontua. “Diagnóstico Precoce Salva Vida!”, afirmam ambas as docentes.

“Nós temos a missão de preparar essas crianças para seguir exatamente o currículo da sua escola. O objetivo é eliminar as defasagens de aprendizagem entre esses alunos e seus colegas de classe”, afirmou a psicóloga Evelin, do Gpaci.

“A capacitação para o diagnóstico precoce do câncer infantil é fundamental para os profissionais da educação, pois não só pode salvar vidas, mas também melhorar a qualidade de vida das crianças afetadas, reduzir o sofrimento das famílias e contribuir para avanços na área da oncologia pediátrica”, completa a Coordenadora Administrativa responsável pelo pedagógico da Sedu, Izaura Mendes.

Em breve, o Gpaci deverá organizar novas turmas que deverão passar pelo mesmo curso de qualificação, em datas a serem divulgadas.
