São José estreia nas finais dos Joguinhos neste sábado

Com uma delegação de 264 pessoas, entre atletas, comissões técnicas, dirigentes e equipe de apoio, São José dos Campos se prepara para a disputa da fase final dos Jogos Abertos da Juventude (Joguinhos), que começa neste sábado (1) e prossegue até o dia 8 de junho em Araçatuba.

São José teve 22 equipes classificadas para a competição, que reúne atletas com idade máxima de 18 anos completos. As equipes, vinculadas ao programa Atleta Cidadão, começam a viajar nesta quinta-feira (30).

Em Araçatuba, a delegação joseense ficara alojada em duas escolas: Cenfica TV e Prof. Lauro Bittencourt.

No sábado já começam as competições de basquete, futebol, futsal, ginástica artística, ginástica rítmica, handebol e vôlei. Das equipes joseenses classificadas na fase regional, 10 são da categoria masculina e 12 da feminina (96 homens e 104 mulheres).

As equipes joseenses classificadas são: atletismo (m/f), basquete (m/f), futsal (m), futebol (m/f), ginástica rítmica (f), ginástica artística (m/f), handebol (f), judô (m/f), natação (m/f), tênis de campo (m/f), vôlei (m/f), vôlei de praia (f) e xadrez (m/f).

As únicas equipes que não conseguiram se classificar durante a fase regional, que foi disputada no período de 27 de abril a 11 de maio, foram as de futsal feminino, handebol masculino e vôlei de praia masculino.

Promovidos pela Secretaria de Esportes do Estado, os Jogos Abertos da Juventude chegam este ano a 39ª edição.

No ano passado, São José alcançou a maior pontuação entre os 138 municípios que disputaram a 38ª edição na cidade de Tatuí-SP, repetindo os resultados dos anos anteriores em Marília (2019) e Presidente Prudente (2022) – em 2020 e 2021 a competição foi suspensa devido à pandemia de covid-19.
